Comprehensive Adult and Pediatric Exams at EYECARE for You
A comprehensive eye exam at EYECARE for You includes a series of pretesting to collect images and data that can be used to give you the most thorough exam possible. A detailed health and family history is then taken to address any issues that could affect your eyes or vision. Your visual acuity will be taken and we will then determine your glasses prescription or refractive error. We will then check the health of your eyes under the slit lamp microscope. Finally, we may dilate your eyes to take a closer look at the blood vessels, optic nerves, and retina.
Vision issues can greatly impact a child’s development and success in the classroom. Many vision skills, in addition to the ability to see clearly, should be evaluated to ensure effective reading and learning. During a comprehensive eye exam, we will evaluate your child’s overall eye health, visual acuity, focusing system, tracking ability, and binocular vision. It is recommended that your child have an eye exam at 6 months, 3 years, 5 years, and annually thereafter.
